On September 17, 2018, four crewman ready for an adventure set out to follow the last path of  the Edmond Fitzgerald. This two-day excursion from Superior, Minnesota to Burt Lake, Michigan and back was taken on the Avalon Ambassador. The same 27′ pontoon was used on Avalon’s Clearwater to Cuba Adventure.

The Edmond Fitzgerald set out on its final trip on November 9th, 1975. Loaded with over 20,000 tons of iron ore pellets, the ship encountered rough water along the journey and sank the next day. The ship now lies at the bottom of Lake Superior, 535 feet deep.
